Our purpose is to facilitate and coordinate community efforts to improve the quality of life for citizens with disabilities in the City of Savannah and Chatham County through advising and advocating with local leaders. This includes, but is not limited to, matters necessary for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, (as amended); the Georgia Public Access Statute, O.C.G.A. 30-3-1, and other related legislation.

If you share our purpose, attend one of our meetings; we're sure you will be happy working with us. If you have any comments or questions, or would like to be placed on our email list, please feel free to contact us.

The Council meets every other month, beginning with February at 2:00 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center, 604-608 W. Oglethorpe Avenue, Savannah, GA 31401.  *DURING the COVID-19, SCCDI is meeting virtually.  Please contact Wayne Dawson, Chair, at wayne@savannahfairhousing.org.  All meetings are open to the public.
